The Matter that Matters

Quotes as such stir an interesting thought process.I found this one in of the laboratories of a college where I attended a conference last Sunday. And I could not stop myself from reading it again and again.

"The only thing that is really yours is what you can learn.Nobody can take it away from you without also taking your life. And if that happens the rest does not matter"

When we count the things that we consider that belong to us, I bet this idea does not fit anywhere in most of our lists. On the contrary, believe it or not what we learn is the only thing that stays. This is not about stories and poetry, diagrams and maps, calculations and experiments that we read in school or college. How many of us can tell the history dates, blurt the composition of ores, find square roots, solve logarithmic equations, draw an animal cell or recite some poems?:-) Learning is a different thing, most of us hardly do that. Blame it on the system for convenience if not for anything else.

Learning in its truest sense is meant to stay for life long. The sky is just a baby step, not the limit. No matter how old you are, where you are and what you are at the end of the day think of one thing that you have learnt, good or bad. Something that makes you more learned than yesterday. It is never too late. That's what life is all about, about learning. Remember the world is our blackboard, our mind the chalk and we our own VERY dusters. The last is a choice, and that is all that matters.

Let me know what you have learnt today :-)

I learnt today, that love and affection , can calm down a whole lot of unpleasantness. This I learn time and again and renew it.
