"One of life's best coping mechanisms is to know the difference between an inconvenience and a problem.
If you break your neck, if you have nothing to eat, if your house is on fire, then you've got a problem.
Everything else is an inconvenience. Life is inconvenient. Life is lumpy.
A lump in the oatmeal, a lump in the throat and a lump in the breast are not the same kind of lump.
One needs to learn the difference"
-Robert Fulghum in 'Uh-Oh'-
Every other quote that I come across sends something up my neuronal circuit, but this one just rewired and set it right. To be frank I have been the kinds who can complain about anything and everything, anyone and everyone! Of late with life's lessons hard and well learnt I can or at least try to decide what qualifies as a problem and what as an inconvenience.
We often spend our time contemplating about icky people and circumstances, I do about multiples! It is a difficult process to prioritize among that lot, and there is where the lump usually appears. What matters more, who deserves our time and attention and how satisfyingly enough we give it is what which decides where our life goes. We fall and we fail, but not all of us raise and move on. Life is lumpy, very. But to know the difference, well there lies the catch;-)

Hi Raksha, wishing you a happy 2012!
Yes, life gives us both: Problems and Inconveniences. As we grow older, life's varied experiences teach us to calm down and segregate the problems from inconveniences.
Hope you learn to slot most of your probs in 2012 as inconveniences!
Life is lumpy, bouncy...as you said to know the difference, lies the catch & how well we walk, rise after a fall to continue again...
:)
